Overview API 2H Grade 50
Considered the work horse grade in offshore applications, API 2H 50 has low sulfur (S5) and is produced in the normalized condition. Because of the low carbon content (.18 max), it has excellent welding characteristics and the Columbium aids as a stabilizing agent to carbide precipitation and creep in the weld effected zone. Most common application is for offshore structures / platforms, anchor support / suction piles, and tension and moment sensitivity environments.
