TUF-37 Steel Plate (HIC Tested)
American Alloy Steel's TUF-37 and TUF-37 HIC Grades (Hydrogen Induced Cracking resistance tested) of steel plate have unique properties. TUF-37 ASME SA516 Grade 60, modified to meet the chemical and physical requirements of ASME SA516 Grades 55, 60, 65 and 70, is corrosion tough for high resistance to hydrogen sulfide sour gas service and notch toughness sensitivity.
All steel plates are normalized and produced to a fine grain practice with vacuum degassing and Calcium/Argon treatment during melting for sulfide shape control, and are produced to stringent and exacting requirements. TUF-37 HIC tested SA516 steel plate additionally has a low carbon equivalence factor of 0.37 AVG for better weldability and an extra low sulfur content of 0.002% MAX.
